Job summary

The Magnum Ice Cream Company is hiring a General Operator (GO) on a fixed-term basis to perform predominantly manual tasks in the plant. You will be involved in feeding/loading materials, packing products into boxes, and palletizing according to SOPs.

You will also handle loading/unloading, maintain clean work areas, and ensure safe operations. You will work as part of the Straight Line, Tubline, Process Plant, Palletizing and Lollies teams, follow 5S standards, and record shift activities such

Qualifications

Matric with Maths & Physical Science or N3 (Engineering Studies).
Willingness to perform manual tasks in a plant.
Ability to work in a team and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

Carry out start-up/shutdown procedures and perform pre-start checks to ensure area and equipment are clean and safe.
Provide a continuous supply of packaging material from line-side storage to demarcated areas per 5S standards.
Manually pack product to packing standards, including date coding, corrugate, sealing and pallet configurations; perform cleaning and general operations.
Record shift hand-overs and events (cases packed, rejects).
Work in a team environment and assist other team members with manual tasks.
Adhere to safety rules and report SHE hazards in the work area.
Perform visual quality checks on process material and finished products and report deviations.
