Job summary

AB InBev Africa in Pretoria is seeking an Operator to maintain a safe working environment while operating packaging equipment and managing related processes. The role requires adherence to production plans, machine operation, and quality control across shifts.

The candidate should have packaging experience, mechanical aptitude, and a technical qualification (N3 or similar). This role contributes to AB reports and maintains a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or S4 completed.
• National Diploma or equivalent (Mechanical/Electrical).
• Mechanical aptitude with machine experience.
• External criteria: Technical qualification (N3 or similar).

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment and manage associated processes.
• Follow production plan for the shift.
• Operate manual and automatic machines online per standards.
• Ensure process quality and productivity.
• Track processes and take corrective actions when needed.
• Manage PIMS & POMS and address negative trends.
• Contribute to AB reports as required.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Perform in-depth cleaning and first-level maintenance.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers.

Key Purpose

The Key Purpose of this role is to maintain a safe working environment. As an Operator you are tasked with operating and managing process control for the equipment and manage associated processes. As an Operator you are also responsible for the maintenance of plant & equipment, problem solving, autonomous operations, quality control and analysis.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Operating equipment and manage associated processes & performance in packaging
• Interpret and implement production plan for shift
• Operate manual and automatic machines online as per standards
• Ensure process quality and productivity
• Perform administration work such as tracking and monitoring of processes and take action when required
• Manage PIMS & POMS and take corrective action on negative trends
• Use of OFR s (As per triggers)
• Contribute towards AB reports as required
• Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Packaging process operation
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment
• In depth cleaning and first level maintenance
• Communication with customers and suppliers
