Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment seeks a highly capable General Manager for a new leisure venue opening in Hillcrest. The candidate will lead a hands-on operation across golf simulators, darts, bar, retail/reception and social offerings, from pre-opening through to full operation.

We are looking for an experienced manager from busy customer-facing settings, with a strong focus on revenue, profitability and guest experience, able to work evenings and seven days a week in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience in a busy customer-facing operation.
• Strong people leadership, recruitment and training experience.
• Understanding of budgets, cost control and P&L management.
• Experience with rostering, labour management and stock control.
• Comfortable working with POS systems and operational reporting.
• Commercially minded with a focus on revenue and profitability.
• Hands-on; organised and solutions focused.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and seven days a week.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the pre-opening operational setup.
• Develop the staffing structure and recruit the opening team.
• Plan rosters, shifts and management coverage.
• Implement SOPs, controls and reporting structures.
• Coordinate suppliers, stock, systems and operational readiness.
• Lead; train and motivate the team.
• Oversee the day‑to‑day operation once open.
• Manage budgets, P&L, labour costs, stock and profitability.
• Drive excellent guest experience and service standards.
• Develop promotions, events and initiatives to increase footfall and repeat business.
• Identify new revenue opportunities and ways to increase customer spend.
• Provide concise operational and commercial reporting to ownership.
