This integral role is based at the stunning lodge property in the wilderness near Nelspruit, Mpumalanga , and is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day lodge operations. You will ensure the highest standards of guest experience, staff management, financial performance, and operational efficiency are met and exceeded. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the efficient and effective management of all lodge operations, including accommodation, food and beverage, housekeeping, guest activities, and grounds maintenance.
• Ensure consistently high levels of guest satisfaction by delivering personalized and exceptional service standards.
• Manage and lead the lodge staff, providing training, motivation, and performance management to foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Control operational costs, manage budgets, and ensure profitability while maintaining luxury standards.
• Maintain the lodge's infrastructure, facilities, and vehicles to the highest standards of upkeep and safety.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and conservation policies and regulations.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance the guest experience and support the lodge's business objectives.
• Manage inventory, procurement, and supplier relationships for lodge supplies and provisions.
• Act as a key point of contact for guests, addressing any concerns or special requests promptly and professionally.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in hospitality management, with at least 3 years in a senior lodge management or operations role within a luxury safari lodge or high-end resort.
• Proven experience in managing diverse operational aspects of a remote lodge.
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and P&L management.
• Excellent understanding of luxury guest service standards and operational excellence.
• Passion for wildlife, conservation, and the unique demands of a safari environment.
• Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and general office software.
• Ability to live on-site and adapt to the lifestyle and demands of a remote lodge location.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is advantageous.
