Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Inventory Management Specialist for a fully remote role. You will optimize stock levels, improve inventory accuracy, and implement best practices across multiple facilities while collaborating with procurement, operations, and sales teams.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in inventory management, strong WMS/ERP experience, and advanced Excel/SQL skills. Occasional travel to the Northern Cape region may be required for audits and strategy meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years in inventory management, preferably multi-site.
• Extensive experience with WMS and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• APICS CPIM certification an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels and costs.
• Ensure data accuracy across multiple warehouses using WMS/ERP tools.
• Analyze turnover, aging, and demand forecasting to identify trends.
• Design cycle counting programs and reconcile physical vs system inventory.
• Define KPIs for accuracy, efficiency, and cost; monitor and report.
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, and sales to align strategies.
• Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and propose actions.
• Document inventory processes and train junior staff.
