Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Full-time Nanny and Child Development Specialist in George, Western Cape, to provide loving care and progressive learning for young children. You will support daily routines, meals, play, and education, while tracking milestones and communicating with parents.

The role requires at least 5 years of nanny or early childhood experience, a valid driver’s license, First Aid/CPR certification, and a genuine passion for child development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a nanny or early childhood educator.
• Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Excellent references from previous families or employers.
• Fluent in English; Afrikaans or isiXhosa a plus.
• Willingness to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for children, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and overseeing nap times.
• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate educational activities and outings.
• Ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children at all times.
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to dietary guidelines.
• Maintain open communication with the parents about daily activities and progress.
• Transport children to and from school, activities, and appointments as needed.
• Assist with homework and establish consistent routines.
• Manage children's schedules including play, learning, and rest periods.
• Foster a positive atmosphere, promoting manners and social skills.
• Create a stimulating environment that encourages curiosity and creativity.
