Job summary

Humankind Group is seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in the fresh fruit industry to manage producer payments, cost accounting and financial reporting.

You will capture costs, oversee weekly producer payments, reconcile ledgers, and prepare ad hoc reports while maintaining accuracy and deadlines in a energetic team environment.

Experience with forex and standard costing is essential, along with advanced Excel skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• BCompt or BTech degree is required.
• Completed articles at a registered auditing firm or a minimum of 3 years accounting experience.
• Essential: Sound experience in the fresh fruit industry.
• Strong computer literacy, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of cost accounting and standard costing principles.
• Experience handling foreign exchange (forex).

Responsibilities

• Capture and review produce costs, related cost elements and adjustments.
• Prepare and review weekly payments to producers.
• Send payment remittances and report on producer payment summaries.
• Manage producer payment deduction ledgers.
• Invoice costs back to producers.
• Reconcile and report on balance sheet items relating to standard cost control accounts.
• Facilitate the onboarding of new producers.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and perform other relevant accounting functions as required.
