Job summary

BerryWorld South Africa is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Finance team in Stellenbosch. This role leads financial reporting, GL integrity, and working capital activities while driving automation and process improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, and cross-functional finance initiatives, with a focus on tax, audit, and internal control requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or management accounting; Honours advantageous; SAICA/CIMA qualification advantageous.
• At least 5 years' experience in general ledger management, financial reporting and reconciliations.
• 3-5 years' experience in financial planning and analysis, leadership and stakeholder management.
• ERP system experience; strong working knowledge of IFRS and financial accounting principles.
• Experience working with and analysing large data sets; foreign exchange transaction experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supporting accurate and timely month-end and group financial reporting

• Leading the end-of-season fruit pool reconciliation process
• Building strong stakeholder relationships across Finance, Sales, Supply Chain and the wider business

This role will support and lead key financial accounting, financial control, governance, trade finance, and group reporting activities, while working closely with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will also play an important role in driving efficient ways of working across the Finance function through automation, integration and process improvement.

We are looking for someone with:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or management accounting
• An Honours degree would be advantageous
• Professional qualification or membership with SAICA or CIMA would be advantageous
• At least 5 years' experience in general ledger management, financial reporting and reconciliations
• 3-5 years' experience in financial planning and analysis, leadership and stakeholder management
• ERP system experience
