Job summary

Rohloff Group in Somerset West seeks a hands-on Skills Training Lead to drive frontline training, certification, and talent development across 106 restaurants. You will design practical development programs, identify gaps, and partner with Operations and Talent teams to elevate capability and retention.

The role focuses on coaching, succession planning, and delivering structured learning pathways to enable leadership bench strength and superior customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, or a related field.
• AC level certification.
• 5-8 years' experience in Learning & Development, Operations, Training, Talent Development, or a similar role.
• Proven ability to coach, develop and inspire frontline teams.
• Experience in succession planning and creating IDPs. Skills Gap Analyses.
• Strong planning, organisational, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.
• Willingness to travel and valid South African driver's license, clear criminal record.

Responsibilities

• Training & Capability Development.
• Deliver onboarding, induction, skills, and operational training programmes.
• Drive Team Member and Shift Supervisor Vault training.
• Drive Team member and Shift Supervisor practical training plans and certification completion and capability development.
• Identify skill gaps and implement practical development plans.
• Conduct coaching, audits, and in-store assessments to maintain training standards.
• Ensure operational readiness and competency across all restaurant positions.
• Talent Development & Bench Strength: coach and develop team members and supervisors; build succession pipelines.
• Employee Experience & Retention: support positive culture through recognition and development programmes.
• Operational & Customer Experience Excellence: align training with customer experience and performance goals.
• Stakeholder Management & Reporting: track certification, competency, engagement, and retention metrics; report to Head of Learning & Development.
