What You’ll Do
- Training & Capability Development
- Deliver onboarding, operational, leadership, and management training.
- Ensure completion of ARM, RGM, and Area Coach theoretical and practical certifications.
- Identify skill, and training gaps in the business and implement development plans
- Conduct coaching, audits, and in-store assessments to maintain training standards.
- Leadership & Succession
- Coach and develop trainers, managers, and restaurant leaders.
- Build succession pipelines for ARM, RGM, and Area Coach roles.
- Ensure leadership readiness and bench strength across the business.
- Employee Experience & Retention
- Drive employee engagement, intent to stay, experience vs engagement and retention initiatives.
- Improve KFC Listens survey participation and engagement results.
- Support the reduction of Team Member and RGM turnover.
- Operational & Business Performance
- Align training with customer experience, audits, labour, and operational targets.
- Ensure training initiatives drive measurable restaurant performance improvements.
- Support training readiness and team capability for new store openings.

- Stakeholder Management & Reporting
- Innovate and streamline the training and certifications process in the business
- Partner with Operations, Talent, and L&D teams to support business objectives.
- Track and report on training completion, competency, engagement, and succession metrics.
- Provide training insights, recommendations, and progress updates to the Head of Learning & Development.
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, or a related field
- Minimum 5-8years' experience in Learning & Development, Operations, Training, Talent Development, or a similar role.
- Certified up to AC level
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop trainers into high-performing, people-focused teams.
- Demonstrated experience in succession planning, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and Skills Needs Analyses.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, business performance drivers, and operational excellence.
- Highly structured and process-driven, with the ability to translate strategy into practical, executable action plans.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence and partner effectively with Area Coaches and Operational Leaders.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills with excellent operational discipline.
- High levels of adaptability, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within a multi-site Retail, Hospitality, Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), or Franchise environment will be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and training reporting systems.
- Strong leadership capability with solid operational and commercial awareness.
- Valid South African ID.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
- Clear criminal record.
Team Structure And Scope
- This role reports directly to the Head of Learning & Development and forms part of the Talent & Culture Department. The successful incumbent will lead a team of four Management Trainers, providing direction, coaching, support, and development to ensure the effective delivery of leadership and management training across the business.
- Based in the Western Cape, this role is responsible for overseeing management training, leadership development, certification, succession planning, and capability-building initiatives across a network of 106 restaurants. The role partners closely with Operations leaders to strengthen leadership bench strength, improve management capability, and build a sustainable pipeline of future leaders.
