Job summary

Mr D , a division of takealot.com, is seeking talented Web Frontend Engineers to join the team. You will work on production applications with modern Angular and SvelteKit, delivering performant, scalable frontend features for millions of customers.

You will collaborate with PMs, UX, and QA to ensure high-quality releases, participate in code reviews, and leverage AI tools to accelerate development. Remote-friendly with strong growth opportunities in the Takealot Group.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of focused, continuous experience in JavaScript or similar languages.
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Proficient with Node.js and backend integration concepts.
• Solid CSS mastery and DOM understanding.
• Experience with API integration and handling CORS issues.
• Familiar with automated testing and test philosophy.
• Proficient in Git and branching strategies (Gitflow).
• Ability to optimize performance and build responsive designs.
• Experience collaborating with UX, PM, and QA teams.
• Ability to estimate work and deliver on commitments.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop production frontend apps using Angular or SvelteKit.
• Write performant, scalable frontend code and improve test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Debug frontend/backend boundary issues and fix end-to-end defects.
• Deploy features via CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth releases.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and shape AI workflows.
• Contribute to development processes and improve code review practices.
• Provide accurate estimates and meet delivery commitments.
