Mr D, a division of takealot.com, is seeking highly talented Web Frontend Engineers to join our team. Join a fast-growing group where you’ll work on multiple production applications using modern Angular and SvelteKit, write performant code, and contribute to automated testing and code reviews.

You’ll collaborate with Project Managers, UX Designers, and QA, deploy through our CI/CD pipeline, and leverage AI tools to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of focused, continuous experience in JavaScript or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of TypeScript and well-defined types.
• Frontend focus with Node.js backend experience and API integration.
• CSS mastery and DOM understanding for responsive, accessible UIs.
• Ability to design and implement testing strategies and CI/CD workflows.
• Proficient in Git workflows and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Join our web development team maintaining and building production apps using Angular and SvelteKit.
• Write performant, scalable frontend code and contribute to automated testing.
• Lead and participate in code reviews to maintain high quality.
• Collaborate with PMs, UX Designers, and QA for feature delivery.
• Debug complex frontend/backend boundary issues and deploy through CI/CD.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and shape AI-assisted workflows.
• Provide accurate estimates and deliver on commitments.
