Mr D, a division of the Takealot Group, is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development and deployment of robust ML models in the e-commerce domain. You will come from a strong development background with emphasis on applied ML and will implement best practices to improve existing models and develop new ones.

You will be part of a growing, dynamic team of ML engineers, contributing to Takealot Group’s ambitious development roadmap and collaborating with cross-functional

Qualifications

• 5 to 10+ years applying machine learning to real-world problems or commercial software development experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, modeling, and machine learning techniques.
• Experience with Python and Linux.
• Experience with BigQuery and ML frameworks (TensorFlow/Scikit-learn/PyTorch/Pandas).
• Experience deploying machine learning to production and building scalable data processing pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Work with a firehose of customer data.
• Analyze, build, evaluate, and productionise machine learning models.
• Touch all aspects of the business in your domain.
• Brainstorm new ideas and concepts to solve specific use cases.
• Work with teammates on design and code reviews.
• Keep abreast of developments in the machine learning domain.
