Job summary

Network Finance is recruiting for a seasoned Commercial Project Manager to own the financial performance of assigned projects in South Africa. You will manage budgets, forecasts, costs, revenue and margins, acting as the key commercial counterpart to the Project Manager under the Four-Eye Principle.

The role requires a BCom in accounting or finance and at least five years in project control, with strong budgeting, invoicing, cash flow management, and contract governance.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting / Finance degree.
• 5+ years' experience in Commercial Project Management, Project Controlling, or Project Finance.
• French speaking is a must.
• Strong budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Invoicing and cash flow management experience.
• Contract management, claims and variations experience.
• Change management experience.
• Risk and opportunity management experience.
• Project scoping and commercial governance exposure.
• Procurement and subcontracting exposure.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial and financial performance of assigned projects.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, costs, revenue and margins.
• Act as the key commercial counterpart to the Project Manager under the 4-Eye Principle.
• Ensure financial targets and governance requirements are met.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
• Monitor project performance and identify financial deviations.
• Analyse profitability, margins and project financial performance.
• Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasts to management.
• Manage project invoicing against contractual milestones.
• Monitor cash flow, collections and billing.
• Identify and proactively resolve potential cash flow risks.
• Evaluate project scope changes and their impact on cost, revenue, schedule and profitability.
• Manage variations, claims and change orders.
• Protect project margins and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.
• Identify commercial, contractual and financial risks.
• Develop mitigation strategies.
• Identify and maximise commercial opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage contractual commitments and obligations.
• Support contract interpretation and implementation.
• Work with Legal and Project teams on claims, variations and change orders.
• Maintain accurate contractual and commercial documentation.
• Support purchasing and subcontracting activities for onshore projects.
• Ensure commercially sound supplier and subcontractor agreements.
• Monitor subcontractor commercial performance and contractual obligations.
• Work with Project Managers, customers, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Engineering and subcontractors.
• Become a trusted commercial advisor to the project team.
• Support commercial negotiations and maintain strong customer relationships.
