DSV - Global transport and logistics in Durban is seeking a Freight Forwarder Assistant to support freight forwarders with the administrative functions in the ocean import process. Responsibilities include registering files, performing line releases, issuing delivery instructions to transporters, and processing client invoices.

Requirements include 1-2 years of ocean import clearing experience and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsabilidades

• Register files within prescribed timeframes
• Perform shipping line releases and issue delivery instructions to transporters
• Process invoices to clients accurately and on time
• Pass cargo dues and other admin tasks
• Track shipments and update KPIs
• Maintain accurate feedback on reports (Tango, CargoWise) and ensure data integrity

Main purpose of the role - To support the Freight forwarders on the administrative functions in order for the smooth flow of import shipments through the import process. Key functions are Registration of files, performing the shipping line release, delivery instruction to the transporters & processing the invoice to client. Pass cargo dues & any other admin tasks

Duties & Repsonsibilitues:

• must be able to work long hours when required
• ability to work within time constraint and make own decisions

• ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
• ability to communicate effectively on all levels
• ability to meet targets & deadlines
• paying attention to detail & dealing with errors promptly
• own reliable transportation to & from work
• dealing with both internal clients / service providers
• ability to build relationships with clients & suppliers
• to resolve queries from internal
• register files within the prescribed time
• administrative duties, checking pods & closing of files within prescribed time
• providing accurate feedback on the Tango & Cargo wise reports
• Invoice on time and accurately
• Call for Anfs & process cargo dues
• Files to entries minimum 7 days prior eta
• Update all events / milestone according to the KPIs
• Chasing up on deliveries with transporters
• tracking shipments
