Placements24 in Benoni, Gauteng, is seeking a highly skilled Literacy Coach to support reading, writing and comprehension in the Foundation Phase (Grades R-3). You will work directly with students, provide professional development to teachers, and collaborate with parents to build a strong literacy foundation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Education with a literacy focus, a qualification in literacy instruction (Reading Recovery is advantageous), and at least 5 years of foundation phase

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in education focused on foundation phase or literacy.
• Qualification in literacy instruction or Reading Recovery is advantageous.
• At least 5 years teaching experience in foundation phase with literacy focus.
• Strong knowledge of phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension strategies.

Responsabilidades

• Assess students' literacy skills and plan targeted interventions.
• Provide individualized and small-group literacy instruction.
• Develop and implement effective literacy strategies and interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers to co-plan and co-teach lessons, integrating literacy across the curriculum.
• Deliver professional development workshops and coaching sessions to teachers on literacy instruction techniques.
• Support teachers in creating engaging literacy-rich classroom environments.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's literacy development.
• Stay current with research and trends in early literacy education.
