Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vibrant Primary School Teacher to join our Foundation Phase team in Benoni. You will nurture young learners aged 5-8 through play-based activities and structured lessons, creating a supportive and safe classroom where children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (Foundation Phase) or PGCE is required.
• Experience teaching Foundation Phase strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and early childhood pedagogy.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and classroom management skills.
• Patient, creative and nurturing approach to teaching young children.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons for Foundation Phase learners.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and social-emotional development.
• Assess student progress through observation and informal evaluations, providing feedback.
• Communicate with parents regarding student development and concerns.
• Manage classroom behavior to ensure a safe, respectful learning space.
• Collaborate with teachers and school administration on curriculum implementation and events.
