Job summary

Placements24 in Mossel Bay seeks a vibrant Foundation Phase Teacher to guide learners in Grades R-3, focusing on foundational literacy, numeracy and life skills within a supportive, community-oriented school.

You will design play-based learning experiences, manage classrooms effectively, assess progress through observations and formal assessments, and foster strong relationships with learners, parents and colleagues to support well-being and curiosity.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification in Foundation Phase (B.Ed. or PGCE)
• Minimum 2 years' Foundation Phase teaching experience
• Strong knowledge of CAPS curriculum for Grades R-3

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver play-based learning for Foundation Phase (R-3)
• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum supporting literacy, numeracy and holistic development
• Assess and track learner progress through observation and formal/informal assessments
• Create a nurturing, safe, stimulating classroom environment with curiosity, creativity and social-emotional growth
• Foster relationships with learners, parents and colleagues with open communication regarding progress and well-being
