About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Formulation Scientist specializing in Oral Solid Dosage forms to join their Research and Development department in Polokwane . This role is central to the development of new pharmaceutical products, focusing on designing robust and stable formulations that meet desired efficacy, safety, and bioavailability profiles. You will conduct pre-formulation studies, develop formulations, and optimize manufacturing processes for solid dosage forms. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background in pharmaceutics and a passion for bringing life-changing medicines from concept to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize formulations for various oral solid dosage forms, including tablets and capsules.


• Conduct pre-formulation studies to understand the physicochemical properties of drug substances.


• Design and execute experiments for formulation development, stability studies, and dissolution profiling.


• Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing process challenges.


• Collaborate with analytical development, process engineering, and manufacturing teams.


• Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and contribute to regulatory submission packages.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.


• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, specifically with oral solid dosage forms.


• Proficiency in formulation techniques, including granulation, blending, compression, and coating.


• Strong understanding of drug delivery principles, pharmacokinetics, and biopharmaceutics.
