Placements24 in Benoni is seeking a skilled Formulation Scientist for our expanding R&D team. You will develop and optimize pharmaceutical formulations across dosage forms, scale processes, and contribute to regulatory documentation.

The ideal candidate has a master's or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field, with at least 4 years of hands-on formulation experience, and a strong understanding of GMP and drug-delivery principles to drive innovation.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Proven experience with various dosage forms and formulation technologies.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements and regulatory guidelines for drug product development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop novel pharmaceutical formulations for various dosage forms (e.g., oral, injectable, topical).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies to characterize drug substances and excipients.
• Optimize formulation parameters and manufacturing processes to achieve desired product characteristics and performance.
• Perform stability studies and interpret data to assess product shelf-life.
• Collaborate with analytical development, process engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation for regulatory submissions, and present findings internally.
