Job summary

ProHireSolutions seeks a QC Manager to oversee quality assurance across raw materials, process monitoring, testing, and audits in a food manufacturing environment in Gauteng. You will lead the quality team, enforce safety standards, and prepare for ISO/FSSC audits.

Responsibilities include mentoring the QC staff, enforcing disciplinary actions when needed, and delivering GMP/hygiene training while driving a culture of food safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related science field.
• 3 to 5 years of quality assurance or control experience within food or FMCG manufacturing, preferably with spices or sauces.
• HACCP (Level 3 or 4) and formal training in FSSC 22000 or ISO 22000 systems.
• Strong analytical reporting, root-cause problem solving, and proficiency in laboratory testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Enforce compliance with food safety rules and company policies.
• Disciplinary actions with HR for repeated or severe negligence.
• Chair internal hearings to explain safety risks.
• Guide QC team to run tests accurately under pressure.
• Coach and mentor on production-line decision-making.
• Perform regular performance reviews of staff.
• Design and deliver basic hygiene and GMP training.
• Instruct on allergen and cross-contamination awareness.
• Lead refresher workshops on pest control, waste, and metal detectors.
