Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Supply Chain Coordinator for its Stellenbosch operations in the Western Cape. The role focuses on ensuring smooth flow of goods, inventory control, and efficient logistics within a dynamic FMCG environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least three years’ experience coordinating supply chain activities, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills to meet customer demand in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain coordination, logistics, or a similar role within the FMCG industry.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and logistics operations.
• Proficiency in using supply chain management software and ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage day-to-day supply chain activities, including inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
• Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
• Process purchase orders, track shipments, and manage documentation related to the supply chain.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock, minimize waste, and prevent stockouts.
• Assist in demand forecasting and production planning to meet anticipated customer orders.
• Resolve any logistical issues or delays that may arise, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Maintain accurate records of supply chain activities and prepare regular reports on inventory, delivery performance, and costs.
• Support the implementation of new supply chain initiatives and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments (Sales, Production, Finance) and external partners regarding supply chain matters.
