Placements24 seeks a meticulous Supply Chain Coordinator to optimize logistics for an FMCG business in Richards Bay. You will oversee daily operations, manage inventory, and coordinate transport to ensure timely, cost-efficient delivery across KwaZulu-Natal.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2–4 years’ FMCG logistics experience, with strong Excel, WMS/TMS knowledge and solid negotiation skills for carrier rates and schedules.

• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (WMS) and TMS.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with diverse logistics partners and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily logistics operations, including inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
• Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics providers to ensure smooth inbound and outbound flow of goods.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock, minimize waste, and prevent stockouts.
• Manage transportation schedules and negotiate rates with carriers to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely deliveries.
• Develop and implement supply chain improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies related to logistics and supply chain management.

You will play a key part in maintaining operational excellence, minimizing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of products to meet market demand within the KwaZulu-Natal region. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of supply chain principles within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sector, contributing to the seamless execution of daily operations and strategic supply chain initiatives.
