Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage raw materials and packaging sourcing in Randburg, Gauteng. You will negotiate with suppliers, analyze markets, and optimize inventory to support production goals in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key duties include supplier relationship management, contract oversight, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Production, and QA to ensure quality and cost-efficiency. A proactive approach and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably FMCG.
• Proven negotiation skills and supplier contract experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with procurement software and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials and packaging for FMCG production in Randburg.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and delivery schedules.
• Conduct market research on commodity prices, trends and supply risks.
• Manage supplier performance, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
• Analyze procurement data to identify cost savings and optimize inventory.
• Collaborate with R&D, Production, QA to understand material requirements.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers for a robust base.
• Manage purchase orders, contracts, and vendor agreements.
