Placements24 in South Africa seeks a seasoned Procurement Officer for a hybrid role based in Mahikeng. You will source raw materials and packaging for FMCG production, negotiate contracts, and ensure a reliable supply chain to support production schedules.

You will manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and collaborate with production, quality and finance to optimize cost, quality and service. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in procurement, strong negotiation skills and experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or related field.
• Minimum 4 years' procurement or supply chain experience in FMCG.
• Experience sourcing raw materials/packaging and negotiating contracts.
• Proficient with ERP systems and supplier evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials, packaging, and supplies for FMCG production.
• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price and reliability.
• Negotiate terms, pricing and contract conditions with suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance.
• Ensure timely delivery to meet production schedules and reduce disruptions.
• Maintain records of procurement activities, POs and inventory levels.
• Conduct market research on commodities and supply risks.
• Collaborate with production, quality and finance for alignment.
• Support development of procurement policies and cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and ethical sourcing.
