Job summary

Dixie Recruitment presents a Logistics Manager role for a leading South African FMCG food manufacturer in Durban North. You will oversee end-to-end logistics across four factories, including warehousing, distribution, and cold-chain integrity to ensure service delivery and cost control.

The role requires multi-site logistics leadership, strong knowledge of inventory, transport planning, and 3PL management, plus a driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 required; diploma/degree preferred
• Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or cold-chain distribution
• Multi-site warehouse and transport management experience
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, transport planning and 3PL management
• Food safety, traceability and cold-chain knowledge
• Strong Excel, ERP/WMS/TMS and reporting skills
• Proven team management experience
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
• Meat or perishable goods experience advantageous

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound raw materials, inter-factory transfers, warehousing and outbound distribution across four factories
• Plan and manage own-fleet and outsourced transport to meet customer delivery requirements
• Ensure cold-chain compliance and product integrity throughout the distribution process
• Oversee warehouse, dispatch, inventory accuracy, picking and loading operations
• Manage 3PL and transport contracts, rates, service levels and claims
• Work closely with Production, Procurement, Quality and Sales to align supply and customer requirements
• Monitor logistics KPIs, costs, inventory and service levels and drive continuous improvement
• Lead, develop and roster warehouse, dispatch and logistics teams across multiple sites
• Implement and maintain SOPs covering receiving, storage, dispatch, returns and traceability
• Identify opportunities to improve routing, capacity utilisation, backhauls and overall cost-to-serve
