About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Distribution Manager to oversee their distribution network for FMCG products in the Upington region and beyond. This role is critical for ensuring the efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of products to customers and retail outlets. You will manage warehouse operations, transportation logistics, and distribution teams to meet operational goals and enhance customer satisfaction. This is a key leadership position for an individual with a strong background in logistics and supply chain management within the fast-moving consumer goods sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective distribution strategies to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery of FMCG products across the region.
• Manage and optimize warehouse operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and space utilization.
• Oversee transportation logistics, including route planning, carrier management, and fleet utilization.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of distribution staff, including warehouse and delivery personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Analyze distribution costs and performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Distribution Manager or in a senior logistics role, preferably within the FMCG industry .
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and transportation logistics.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control operational costs.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
