Job summary

Bright Placements is seeking a Data Analyst for an FMCG environment in Pretoria. You will turn sales, stock, financial, customer and operational data into insights to improve profitability, forecasting, inventory and performance.

Key focus areas include Power BI dashboards, advanced Excel, SQL and data integrity, with collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain to drive data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12 / Matric.
• Essential: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Data Analytics / Data Science / Statistics / Mathematics / Business Analytics / IT / Finance / Economics / Supply Chain / Commerce or related field.
• Essential: 2-4 years' experience in data analysis, reporting, BI or similar role.
• FMCG, retail, manufacturing or supply-chain experience highly advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong Power BI experience.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyse and interpret large datasets from multiple sources.
• Analyse sales, revenue, margins, pricing and product performance.
• Identify trends, patterns, variances and opportunities.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly management reports.
• Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reporting tools.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports as requested by management.
• Analyse sell-in and sell-out performance across customers, channels and regions.
• Monitor SKU/product performance and identify slow-moving or underperforming products.
• Analyse promotional effectiveness and return on investment.
• Track sales targets, market performance, margins and profitability.
• Provide insights to Sales, Marketing, Finance and Category Management teams.
