Job summary

Route Management in Johannesburg is seeking a Fleet Telematics Analyst to monitor and optimize our vehicle tracking and reporting systems. You will analyse telematics data, track fleet activity in real time, and liaise with drivers and technicians to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

The role also involves monitoring maintenance alerts, data accuracy, and reporting trends to support operational decisions.

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage vehicle tracking and telematics systems.
Track vehicles and monitor fleet activity in real time.
Monitor driver behaviour, including speeding, harsh braking, excessive idling and unauthorised vehicle use.
Identify and report driver and vehicle performance concerns.
Generate and analyse daily, weekly and monthly telematics reports.
Monitor vehicle mileage, utilisation, fuel consumption and operating performance.
Investigate exceptions, alerts and unusual vehicle activity.
Assist with improving fleet efficiency and reducing unnecessary operating costs.
Monitor vehicle maintenance alerts and assist with preventative maintenance planning.
Ensure telematics devices are functioning correctly and report technical faults.
Liaise with tracking providers, technicians, drivers and management when required.
Maintain accurate fleet records and ensure telematics information is kept up to date.
Assist management with data and reports to support operational decisions.
Ensure company policies and fleet safety requirements are followed.
Provide feedback to management regarding trends, risks and areas for improvement.
