Placements24 is seeking a Remote Fleet Efficiency Specialist to analyze telematics data and optimize fleet performance across South Africa. You will drive cost-efficient strategies, monitor maintenance schedules, and support route planning and driver behavior initiatives from a fully remote setup.

The role requires strong data literacy, knowledge of fleet management, and the ability to deliver data-driven insights while coordinating with fleet managers and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in fleet management, operations analysis, or related efficiency role.
• Proven experience analyzing telematics data to drive improvements.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, fuel management, and route optimization.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python) and fleet management software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Experience in transportation or logistics industry is essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyze telematics, GPS and reports to assess fleet performance.
• Identify fuel-efficiency opportunities via driver behavior and routing.
• Develop strategies to reduce downtime and optimize maintenance.
• Analyze costs across fuel, maintenance, tires, and driver expenses.
• Provide data-driven insights to fleet managers and operations teams.
• Develop dashboards and reports to monitor key efficiency metrics.
• Research and recommend new technologies to boost fleet efficiency.
• Ensure data integrity for all analyses.
• Assist in setting efficiency targets and tracking progress.
• Contribute to training on efficient driving and cost-saving measures.
