Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of progressive fleet management experience in a large operation.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong knowledge of fleet management software, telematics and maintenance systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities.
• Budget management and cost control expertise.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement strategies for effective fleet management including acquisition, maintenance and disposal of vehicles.
• Oversee daily fleet operations, scheduling and utilization of vehicles and drivers.
• Lead fleet supervisors and drivers with training, coaching and performance evaluations.
• Establish and monitor KPIs such as fuel efficiency, uptime and safety compliance.
• Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and repair costs.
• Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and national transport regulations and safety standards.
• Manage fuel purchasing and monitor consumption for cost savings.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues, incidents, and driver-related problems.
• Collaborate with procurement on vehicle acquisition and vendor management.
• Maintain accurate fleet records including maintenance history and mileage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for effective fleet management, including acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles.
• Oversee daily fleet operations, ensuring efficient scheduling and utilization of all vehicles and drivers.
• Manage a team of fleet supervisors and drivers, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for fleet operations, such as fuel efficiency, uptime, and safety compliance.
• Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and repair costs.
• Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and national transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Manage fuel purchasing programs and monitor fuel consumption to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Investigate and resolve any operational issues, accidents, or driver-related incidents.
• Collaborate with procurement teams on vehicle acquisition and vendor management.
• Maintain accurate fleet records, including maintenance history, mileage, and driver performance data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in fleet management, preferably within a large commercial transport operation.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of fleet management software, telematics, and maintenance systems.
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in budget management and cost control.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience working with diverse vehicle types.
• Familiarity with the Centurion area and South African road networks is advantageous.
