Placements24 is seeking a Logistics Fleet Coordinator for a national client in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will oversee day-to-day fleet operations, schedule drivers, plan routes, monitor performance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance to keep goods moving efficiently.

The role requires proactive communication with drivers, maintenance teams and customer service. You will generate reports, drive cost reductions, and implement fleet strategies to support growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in logistics, fleet management, or related operational role.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily fleet operations, including driver scheduling, route planning and dispatching.
• Monitor vehicle performance and utilization to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Oversee regular vehicle maintenance and repairs with mechanics and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain records of fleet inventory, maintenance history, fuel use and driver logs.
• Respond to and resolve operational issues such as breakdowns or delays.
• Communicate clearly with drivers and provide support as needed.
• Assist in developing fleet management strategies to improve performance.
• Generate reports on fleet status and key performance indicators for management.
• Foster a strong safety culture within the fleet operations team.
