Job summary

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Logistics Controller to oversee vehicle deliveries, drivers and daily logistics operations in a busy transport environment.

The role requires Matric, logistics/PM experience and strong Excel/Word skills, with VTS knowledge and cross-border planning. You will monitor vehicle movements, optimize driver availability, maintain records and report to management. Travel or out-of-town work may be required.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required.
• Experience in logistics or project management.
• Experience managing drivers and fleet operations.
• Proficiency with Vehicle Tracking Systems (VTS).
• Strong knowledge of South African geography.
• Cross-border logistics experience.
• Advanced Excel and Word skills.
• Experience with data capture and fuel consumption analysis.
• Strong administrative, organisational and reporting abilities.
• Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Zulu and/or isiXhosa advantageous.
• Own reliable transport; willingness to travel/work out of town.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage commercial vehicle deliveries and drivers.
• Manage driver availability and operational efficiency.
• Monitor vehicle movements using the Vehicle Tracking System.
• Manage cross-border planning and procedures.
• Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
• Identify and resolve logistical challenges.
• Conduct fuel consumption and operational data analysis.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks with drivers.
• Check tracking devices before driver dispatch.
• Maintain accurate operational records and data.
• Communicate operational matters to management and operations staff.
• Develop and maintain effective operational processes.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
