Rectitude Recruit in Bloemfontein is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to lead loading, unloading, and driver coordination for a regional delivery fleet. You will monitor performance, safety, and maintenance to ensure reliable service.

The role requires a minimum 3+ years as a Fleet Manager, a high school diploma or higher, and a readiness to on-call for driver shifts and incidents. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to keep deliveries on schedule.

• Oversee loading and offloading of trucks and ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate with drivers and clients to resolve delivery issues.
• Monitor fleet for wear, fuel usage and coordinate maintenance.
• Enforce discipline and manage staff performance.
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks and provide team guidance.
• Respond to breakdowns and accidents to minimize delivery disruption.
• Maintain yard cleanliness and secure premises.
• Coordinate with internal teams for shipments and updates.

Jobbeschreibung

• Ability to work under pressure.
• Risk management on and off site.
• Brief Driver’s on most economical routes to be taken, daily.
• Communicate with All Personal to ensure Smooth Running of Loading and Offloading of Trucks
• Ensure timely delivery of our products.
• Communicator between Driver & Client and address any issues on site with Customer and or Driver.
• Liaise with Drivers to address any problems that may arise with deliveries.
• Physically checking any items returned before requesting credit notes to be passed.
• Do physical truck inspections to determine preventative maintenance, repairs and damages, determine if damages were abuse and take disciplinary steps against driver if damage was caused through abuse.
• Monitor driver abuse, wear and tear, tyre usage and take necessary preventative actions.
• Monitor full fleet diesel consumptions, including trucks, bakkies, forklifts and yellow machines.
• Attend to Breakdowns, and Accidents, put alternative plans in action to ensure delivery takes place to Customer with minimum inconvenience to Customer.
• Chair weekly toolbox talks with team, give team advice and motivate team, address any concerns or problems that may arise.
• Collaborate and communicate information related to shipments with relevant internal teams and customers.
• Live monitoring of Fleet.
• Driver training and Onboarding.
• On 24 hours standby for drivers and in-case of an accident.
• Weekly Debriefing of Staff.
• Enforce discipline and take disciplinary action against staff when needed.
• Keeping Premises neat and Clean by delegating, and ensure that yard is secured.
