Contract: Temporary – 3 months
We are seeking an experienced Fleet Controller for a three-month temporary assignment. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day administration and control of a multi-vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles remain compliant, properly maintained, cost-effective and available for operational use.
Maintain an accurate fleet register and complete vehicle records.
Administer vehicle allocations, handovers, returns and changes in allocation.
Monitor vehicle licence, registration and roadworthy expiry dates.
Coordinate licence renewals and maintain supporting compliance documentation.
Schedule vehicle servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs.
Monitor vehicle downtime, availability and recurring maintenance issues.
Track mileage, fuel consumption, utilisation and fleet operating costs.
Investigate and elevate unusual fuel, mileage or expenditure patterns.
Administer vehicle accidents, damage, insurance claims and incident records.
Liaise with insurers, brokers, workshops, dealerships and fleet service providers.
Monitor supplier service levels and follow up on outstanding matters.
Prepare monthly fleet reports covering compliance, availability, maintenance, fuel, utilisation and costs.
Assist with fleet audits, vehicle valuations, budgeting, replacement planning and potential de-fleeting.
Recommend improvements to fleet administration processes and controls.
National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Fleet Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
Three to five years’ relevant experience in fleet administration, fleet control, transport administration or vehicle administration.
Proven experience administering a multi-vehicle fleet.
Knowledge of vehicle licensing, registration and compliance requirements.
Experience coordinating vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
Experience monitoring fleet costs, fuel consumption and vehicle utilisation.
Experience liaising with fleet suppliers and service providers.
Strong administrative, reporting and record-keeping skills.
Good computer literacy and attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree in Transport, Logistics, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
Fleet Management qualification or certification.
Experience managing a geographically dispersed fleet.
Experience in retail, betting, gaming, hospitality, property, entertainment or another multi-site environment.
Experience using GPS, telematics, fuel-management or fleet-management systems.
