Job summary

The Talent Room is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor in George, Western Cape, to prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets and forecasts. The role involves monitoring expenditures, preparing bills of quantities and cost reports, and liaising with contractors and clients to ensure financial control throughout projects.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant experience, a Quantity Surveying qualification, and solid numerical, analytical and administrative capabilities.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 / Matric.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification is required.
• 3–5 years of Quantity Surveying experience.
• Experience in the electrical and/or plumbing industry.
• Financial Quantity Surveying experience is essential.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong numerical, analytical and financial management skills.
• Good communication, organisational and administrative abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets and forecasts.
• Conduct financial assessments and monitor project expenditure.
• Prepare bills of quantities, quotations and cost reports.
• Measure and calculate material, labour and project costs.
• Monitor costs against budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assist with tender preparation, pricing and cost comparisons.
• Track project variations, additional costs and financial claims.
• Liaise with project managers, contractors, suppliers and clients.
• Maintain accurate financial records and project cost documentation.
• Ensure costs are monitored and controlled throughout the project lifecycle.
