Ideal candidate has 5+ years in financial operations within fintech/payments, with experience in leadership, project delivery, and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment.

We have an amazing opportunity for a Financial Operations Lead at a leading fintech and payments company based in Cape Town! The main purpose of this role is:

- Oversee financial operations, including reconciliations, system configuration and settlements, while leading the Settlement team, driving automation and improving financial processes to support business growth and strong financial controls.

We require a candidate with:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in financial operations, reconciliations, system configuration and settlements within the fintech or payments industry.
• Experience leading or supporting a settlement or financial operations function, ideally with direct people management experience.
• Proven experience driving automation of financial operations processes.
• A track record of delivering financial operations or systems-related projects, including system implementations and process improvements.
• Strong technical knowledge of reconciliations, financial systems configuration and settlement processing.
• A sound understanding of the fintech and payments industry.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience maintaining financial controls and supporting audit and compliance requirements.
• Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to coach, develop and manage a high-performing team.
• A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to take ownership, work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• A CA(SA) or CIMA qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Must be based in Cape Town or willing to relocate.
