Job summary

Conova (PTY) LTD is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance team in Western Cape. You will oversee monthly accounting, reporting, and budget processes, ensuring accurate balance sheets and timely filings.

The role involves liaising with external auditors, driving forecasts, liquidity planning and strategic analysis. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in finance, with leadership experience, strong accounting knowledge, and proficiency in advanced Excel.

Qualifications

  • BCom Accounting or equivalent degree.
  • Completed articles or relevant finance experience (advantageous).
  • CA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA or similar qualification (advantageous).
  • 5 - 8 yrs finance experience, with min 2 yrs in a Financial Manager or similar role.
  • Experience managing a small to medium-sized finance team.
  • Experience preparing management accounts and annual financial statements.
  • Experience in Asset finance, Leasing, rental businesses, financial services, Commercial finance, Banking (advantageous).
  • Strong accounting knowledge.
  • Financial reporting and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor and develop members of the finance team.
  • Manage the monthly accounting and reporting process.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and provisions.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and budgets.
  • Liaise with external auditors during the audit process.
  • Prepare monthly forecast updates.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget.
  • Support management with financial analysis and decision-making.
  • Monitor daily and weekly cash flow requirements and forecasting.
  • Assist with liquidity planning.
  • Manage banking relationships and routine banking requirements.
  • Prepare funding and covenant reporting for lenders where required.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with SARS, Companies Act requirements, NCR.
  • Review creditors and payment runs.
  • Monitor debtors and collections reporting.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting.
  • Assist with finance lease and rental asset accounting.
  • Prepare financial reports for management meetings and board reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies.
