Job summary

Abantu Staffing Solutions in South Africa seeks a chartered accountant or CIMA-qualified financial leader to drive our finance function. The role covers budgeting, forecasting, governance and partner with the CEO to execute strategy.

You will ensure IFRS/GAAP reporting, manage cash flow and working capital, build internal controls, and mentor the finance team while aligning finance with operations.

Qualifications

• Certified professional credentials required (CA(SA) or CIMA).
• Minimum 5–10 years in a senior finance role, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proven track record in financial management, reporting, and strategic planning.
• Hands-on experience with asset management and operational finance.
• Strong organisation, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining project documentation and records.
• Excellent stakeholder liaison and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support executive decision-making.
• Drive long-term financial planning and capital allocation strategies.
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team to execute corporate strategy.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in line with IFRS/GAAP.
• Oversee preparation of board-level reports and presentations.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and profitability.
• Ensure effective budgeting control and financial performance tracking.
• Maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, SARS regulations, and corporate governance standards.
• Lead internal and external audit processes.
• Liaise with auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and systems.
• Ensure alignment between finance and operational functions.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships across the business.
• Present financial performance to executives, board members, and stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements
