Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly/quarterly deliverables and general ledger reconciliations.
• Coordinate external audit materials and internal control reviews.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for management meetings.
• Review tax and regulatory returns and ensure compliance.

Job description

Our client, a leader in their field, is recruiting for a Financial Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, organising, analysing and reporting on financial and management information. You will also be responsible for offering insights and financial advice that will facilitate best business decisions for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Managing finance team members providing guidance and training
• Reviewing business budgets and forecasts
• Preparing BBBEE schedules and scorecard on a monthly basis
• Ensuring that finance team completes monthly/quarterly deliverables in line with Group deadlines
• Reviewing and approving monthly general ledger reconciliations
• Coordinating the preparation of the external audit materials
• Directing internal audits involving the review of accounting and administrative control
• Preparing and reviewing financial reports for monthly management meetings
• Preparing the annual insurance declarations
• Reviewing weekly cash flow forecasts and evaluating and investigate variances
• Reviewing forward cover requirements for foreign purchase contracts and ensuring that adequate cover is in place in line with Group Forex Policy
• Preparing annual tax return schedules and tax calculations
• Reviewing and approving statutory statutory/government returns (example SARB returns and Stats SA)
• Understanding and adhering to financial regulations and legislation

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Financial Manager with a minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar role
• FMCG or Manufacturing industry experience is essential
