Job summary

Synergy Jobs (Pty) Ltd is seeking a reliable Financial Manager to analyse day-to-day financial activities and advise top management on future plans to drive value.

You will oversee budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, payroll administration on SAGE 300, and ensure statutory and internal controls are followed to produce timely statements.

The role requires a B Com degree and completing SAIPA, CIMA or SAICA articles; the position is based in Durbanville, Western Cape and is on-site.

Qualifications

• B.Com degree or equivalent
• Completion of SAIPA, CIMA or SAICA articles as required by South African accounting standards

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting preparation and financial monitoring.
• Perform financial analysis, reporting and ensure timely delivery of financial statements.
• Coordinate payroll activities and ensure accurate salary computations.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and financial regulations.
• Assist in external and internal audits and liaise with auditors.
• Support forecasting, planning and strategic financial analysis.
• Manage finances across branches and divisions and monitor expenses.

POSITION:

Financial Manager

LOCATION:

Durbanville, Western Cape
We are looking for a reliable Financial Manager that will analyse everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans.
The goal is to enable the company’s leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives.In this role, you will have the
opportunity to utilize your expertise in financial analysis and strategic planning. By analysing day-to-day financial activities with precision,
you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to upper management.

Responsibilities and Duties

Budgeting

• Oversee the overall corporate budgeting preparation, financial management and financial monitoring processes.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

• Perform financial analysis, reporting and management activities.
• Ensure that the financial reports are prepared and delivered on time.
• Review financial data for accuracy, correctness and completeness.
• Generate financial reports related to budgets, accounts payable, account receivables, expenses, etc.
• Ensure annual financial statements are prepared and are appropriate before submission to the CEO for ratification.
• Together with the auditors ensure that annual financial statements are ratified by the F&A Committee and Executive Board for submission to Council.

Human Resources

• Hire and train new employees in financial operations.
• Participate in performance evaluation of finance staff and conduct counseling sessions to identify skill development needs.
• Ensure accurate calculation and distribution of salaries and other benefits to employees.
• Perform the monthly Payroll run on the SAGE 300 Payroll system.

Financial management

• Monitor and manage all expenses within the allotted budgets.

Strategic Analysis

• Establish key financial strategies to enhance business profitability.

Legal and regulatory

• Ensure the financial team follows the institution’s policies and regulations.
• Comply with and keep up to date with all the relevant tax laws & regulations and finance and finance related regulations, guidelines and codes of best practice.

Systems & Procedures

• Develop standard and new accounting procedures to improve financial operations efficiency.

Review & reconciliation

• Review annual budgets and recommend any changes if needed.
• Assist in accounting payable and receivable activities.
• Perform account reconciliation activities.

Forecasting & Foresight

• Establish accurate forecasts regarding expenses and revenues and manage regular reporting requirements.
• Input into New Business initiatives.

Audits

• Prepare the financial system for internal audit.
• Prepare the financial system for the external annual audit.

Management Activities

• Control of finances for Branches & Divisions which includes the following duties.
  • Visits for financial/administrative matters.
  • Financial management, travel arrangements.
• Administration, financial management of data and execution of the strategic planning activities in relation to finance.
• Financial management of staff & staff benefits, and staff stationed at Branches & Divisions.

Administrative

• Attending Executive Board meetings and giving action to decisions related to matters of finance.
• Follow up and action resolutions taken at meetings.
• Liaise with auditors in relation topreparing for annual general audit.

Minimum requirements

• B Com Degree.
• Completed SAIPA, CIMA or SAICA Articles.
