About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic financial insights.
• Manage cash flow and treasury functions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international tax regulations.
• Lead and coordinate external audits, liaising effectively with auditors.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems, leveraging technology.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making by senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA) or equivalent is mandatory.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or controlling role.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS and South African accounting standards.
• Experience with financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Proven experience in establishing and managing internal controls.
