Job summary

outsidecapital is looking for a seasoned finance professional to manage the entire financial lifecycle for a growing international group based in South Africa. The role involves driving month-end closing processes, managing treasury operations, and leading the compliance with IFRS.

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, have completed SAICA or SAIPA articles, and possess 3-5 years of team management experience. Experience with Oracle NetSuite or Microsoft D365 and knowledge of financial operations in South Africa and East Africa is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive and coordinate the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across all Group entities.
• Oversee all transactional finance activities, including AP, AR, fixed assets, and revenue accounting, ensuring the integrity of the trial balance.
• Manage complex treasury operations, focusing on liquidity monitoring, payment cycles, and short‑term cash flow optimization across multiple banking platforms.
• Ensure strict compliance with IFRS, internal controls, and approved accounting policies, while meticulously maintaining the integrity of master data within the ERP system.
• Perform detailed intercompany transaction reconciliations and ensure adherence to transfer pricing policies in line with intercompany agreements.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reporting inputs, operational KPIs, and variance analyses for executive management and Board committees.
• Act as the lead operational contact for external auditors, efficiently coordinating all deliverables and audit requirements.
• Proactively identify financial risks, control gaps, and opportunities for process enhancement within operational finance, taking ownership of resulting improvements.
