Placements24 is assisting a well-established agricultural enterprise in Bloemfontein to recruit a diligent Financial Accountant. The role covers general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation.

On-site in Bloemfontein, you will contribute to accurate reporting and financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 3+ years in financial accounting, and proficiency with Pastel or Sage and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent.
• Professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA/CA(SA)) is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of financial accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable operations daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are accurate and posted in a timely manner.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Support the annual audit process by providing requested documentation and explanations.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting department.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, CA(SA) partially completed) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial accounting role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
