Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting or Finance; CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification required.
• 10+ years in accounting/financial management with at least 3 years in a controller role.
• Extensive IFRS knowledge and SA tax laws; strong internal controls experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, GL, and payroll.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate risks.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting with department heads.
• Manage banking relationships and optimize cash flow.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with tax regs and statutory reporting.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the company's accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads.
• Manage banking relationships and optimize cash flow management.
• Provide strategic financial guidance and analysis to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Accounting or Finance; CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a controller role.
• Extensive knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and South African tax laws.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing internal controls.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable interacting with the board of directors.
