Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a client in Klerksdorp to recruit a seasoned Financial Controller to lead accounting operations. You will oversee financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, while guiding the finance team and delivering insights to management.

The ideal candidate has a CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA qualification with 7+ years in accounting/finance, including 3+ in supervisory roles, and strong IFRS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Qualified professional accountant (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA).
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 in a supervisory or controlling position.
• Expert knowledge of IFRS and South African accounting standards.
• Strong experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Experience within the mining or industrial sector is advantageous in Klerksdorp.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting department, including financial statement preparation, general ledger management, and month-end close.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
