Job summary

Menar Ports & Rail seeks a proactive Financial Manager to oversee daily accounting at the Sandton Head Office. You will manage a five-person finance team, drive accuracy across ledgers, and coordinate month-end/year-end closes, tax calculations and statutory compliance.

The role emphasizes hands-on preparation of financial statements, management reports, cash forecasts and continuous process improvements to support leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) with 3+ years post-articles experience.
• Mining or ports experience advantageous.
• Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and tax compliance ability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting and financial accounts.
• Coach and develop finance team of five.
• Lead year-end audit and tax/compliance activities.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
• Oversee stock, fixed assets, and cost management.
• Payroll review and monthly payroll.
