HotelJobs is seeking a Financial Manager for the Stellenbosch hospitality operations (restaurant and guesthouse). You will manage daily financial activities, prepare monthly accounts, and drive budgeting and forecasting with accuracy and integrity.

The role requires hospitality finance experience, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to management. Accommodation is live-out, and salary ranges from R30,000 to R40,000 per month.

Formación

Responsabilidades

Job Description & Requirements:

• Manage the daily financial activities of the restaurant and guesthouse operations.
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports for management review.
• Compile annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts and financial projections.
• Monitor revenue, operating costs and departmental performance against approved budgets.
• Investigate financial variances and provide clear findings and recommendations to management.
• Complete and submit VAT returns accurately and within the required deadlines.
• Maintain supporting documentation and reconciliations for all VAT submissions.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger processes.
• Review supplier invoices, payment schedules, debtor balances and creditor reconciliations.
• Manage bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Maintain accurate financial records across the restaurant and guesthouse operations.
• Assist with payroll-related financial controls and ensure accurate payroll reconciliations.
• Monitor cash handling, banking, point-of-sale reconciliations and daily revenue reporting.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls, policies and financial procedures.
• Support stock control processes and review food, beverage and operating cost reports.
• Prepare financial information and supporting schedules for external accountants and auditors.
• Assist management with commercial decisions, cost-saving initiatives and profitability analysis.
• Experience completing VAT calculations and submissions is essential.
• Previous financial management, accounting or bookkeeping experience is required.
• Hospitality finance experience within restaurants, guesthouses, hotels or similar establishments would be advantageous.
• A relevant finance or accounting qualification would be advantageous.
• Strong spreadsheet, reporting and financial analysis skills are important.
• Excellent attention to detail, integrity and deadline management are required.
• The successful candidate must be able to work independently and communicate financial information clearly.
