Company and Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Interim Finance Manager to join their finance team on a 4–6 month contract.

This role will suit a commercially minded finance professional who is comfortable working in an SME environment, taking ownership of projects and getting involved wherever needed. You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders, supporting the team across Financial Control, FP&A, financial modelling and transaction readiness.

The role offers excellent exposure to a business preparing for a future transaction, including the opportunity to contribute to data-room preparation and transaction-related projects. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a Balance Sheet Forecasting Model to support financial planning and decision‑making.
  • Develop and enhance Professional Services reporting, providing greater visibility into business performance.
  • Develop and improve financial reporting for the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Support the Finance Team with day‑to‑day financial control and FP&A activities.
  • Take ownership of finance projects and deliverables with limited supervision.
  • Support the preparation and organisation of data rooms and financial information in preparation for a future transaction.
  • Provide additional hands‑on finance support to the CFO and Financial Controller as required.
  • Analyse financial information and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions.
Job Experience and Skills Required
  • Qualified Accountant – CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Approximately 10 years’ post-qualified experience.
  • Strong experience working within SME environments, with the ability and willingness to be hands‑on.
  • Broad finance experience covering both Financial Control and FP&A.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed business would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to a business transaction or transaction‑readiness process would be beneficial.
  • Strong financial modelling and reporting experience.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and take ownership of deliverables with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
