Job summary

Time Personnel is seeking a Finance Clerk in Cape Town to support day-to-day financial operations, including creditors, debtors, reconciliations and general finance admin. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, numerically minded and organised, with comfort using AI-assisted tools to boost productivity.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, maintaining creditor and debtor records, handling month-end tasks, and assisting with audits.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 is required.
• Previous experience in finance, bookkeeping or accounts administration preferred.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using accounting or ERP software would be advantageous.
• Good numerical ability with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using modern digital tools, including AI-assisted tools such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT, to support productivity and efficiency.
• Willing to learn and adopt new technologies and AI tools as part of the finance function.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and timeously.
• Capture and maintain creditor accounts.
• Prepare creditor reconciliations and assist with payment preparation.
• Process customer receipts and assist with debtor reconciliations.
• Follow up on outstanding customer accounts when required.
• Process cashbook and banking transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist with petty cash and company credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for financial transactions.
• Maintain well-organised electronic and physical finance records.
• Assist with month-end processing and reconciliations.
• Assist with general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for audits and year-end procedures.
• Liaise professionally with customers and suppliers regarding account queries.
• Provide general administrative support to the finance function as required.
